EDUCATION

Jesus said: "Let the little children come to me...for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these" (Matthew 19:14). Parents, God entrusted your children to you. The ultimate responsibility for bringing them up in the training and instruction of the Lord belongs to you (Ephesians 6:4). But the church is also commanded to help feed Jesus' little lambs (John 21:16). At St. Mark, we conduct a quality Christian education program for children of all ages.

LITTLE LIONS PRESCHOOL

Little Lions, a ministry of St.Mark, has been in operation nearly 15 years! We’ve served hundreds of families in the Salina area since our opening and would love the chance to serve your family as well. Please see more in the “About Us” tab or by following this link to our Little Lions website.

Sunday School

After worship each week, youth ages 2-18 are invited to attend a 60 minute class which includes learning Bible lessons and passages, singing songs, and doing art projects. It is our goal to “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 3:18) and to become strong to share this knowledge with others. Sunday school begins each week at 10:15 a.m.

Bible Study

Jesus said, "Study the Scriptures diligently because you think that by them you possess eternal life.  These are the Scriptures that testify about me" (John 5:39). In the Scriptures, we do find eternal life. Not when we are looking for what rules to follow or what deeds we must do to save ourselves, but when we find Jesus: "I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life." (John 5:24) At St.Mark, we aim to alternate between studying books of the Bible in depth and studying the Lutheran Confessions.

Wednesday Evenings

Our Wednesday evening Bible class gives us a time to rest in the middle of the week to study God’s Word. We have separate classes for kids and adults, so bring the whole family! Bible hour starts at 6:00 pm each Wednesday. We take a recess during the summer months from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Our Wednesday night classes also change into midweek worship services during the seasons of Advent and Lent.

Bible Info Class

Bible Information Class is designed to give you an overview of what the Bible teaches, and therefore, what we teach as a church. If you are interested in church membership, the Bible Information Class is the place to start! BIC meets based on the schedules of the students attending class. Please contact Pastor Winterstein if you’re interested.
